CHAPTER 7: The Nursery Camera Never Blinked

Sebastian's attorney arrived through the east entrance in twelve minutes.
He carried no briefcase, only a tablet and the exhausted calm of a man accustomed to cleaning bloodless disasters for powerful families.
Vivienne tried to move the scene into the library. Sebastian refused.
'No,' he said. 'Whatever happened under my roof can survive my lights.'
The security director stepped forward, pale around the mouth.
Sebastian asked one question. 'Do the nursery cameras still archive remotely?'
Vivienne turned sharply. 'The nursery cameras were removed. I ordered it for Lily's privacy.'
The director swallowed. 'The visible devices were removed, sir. The hallway archive remains active for insurance compliance.'
Lily moved closer to Elena.
Sebastian saw that small motion and understood more than the footage would ever show.
The tablet lit the director's face.
No one else saw the video, but everyone saw him watching it. His jaw tightened. His eyes lifted once toward Vivienne, then away.
'Sir,' he said quietly, 'you need to see this in private.'
Sebastian's answer was colder than winter.
'My daughter suffered in private. We are done protecting private rooms.'
