CHAPTER 12: The Prenup He Never Finished Reading

Daniel placed another document on the table.
Grant recognized the blue binding at once.
The prenuptial agreement had been thick, boring, and beneath him, or so he had said during the engagement.
He had signed after skimming the first page and kissing Amelia’s forehead for the benefit of her father’s attorneys.
Now Daniel turned to the clause Grant had ignored.
“Infidelity combined with verified endangerment, witness intimidation, or abuse of marital trust triggers immediate separation of assets connected to Whitmore backing.”
Grant stared at him.
“That clause is not enforceable.”
Daniel’s expression did not move.
“You should have paid for a better lawyer before marrying one of the Whitmore daughters.”
Celeste whispered, “Daughters?”
Amelia looked up.
So that part was still hidden from them too.
Charles’s voice was cold.
“Yes. My eldest. My heir.”
