Victor Hart had not attended the hearing.
That was what Daniel believed.

He did not know enough.
Victor Hart did not raise his voice, sponsor gossip, or chase cameras. He bought debt quietly. He rescued banks quietly. He ruined careless men so quietly that they often thanked him until the last signature closed around their throats.
That morning, he had been inside the courthouse in a sealed conference room, finalizing something Daniel had never been meant to see.
A protection order.
An injunction.
And a full emergency review of every Voss Holdings asset touched by Amelia's trust.
When the shouting reached the marble hall, Victor was the first man through the door.
He saw his daughter on the steps.
Victor had warned Amelia once that men who borrow power eventually start speaking as if they own it.
She had defended Daniel then. She remembered that defense now, and it embarrassed her more than the cameras ever could.
After that, silence became dangerous.
